Beacon Falls Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

Beacon Falls’ veterans page describes the wartime, additional and active-duty exemptions without printing an amount, and gives the additional exemption’s income limits as $46,300 single and $56,500 married, labelled the October 2025 grand list.

Also called: property tax, 12-81g, veterans exemption, assessor, Beacon Falls.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The assessor’s veterans page requires a veteran to have served at least 90 days in an active period of war with an honorable discharge, the DD-214 filed with the Town Clerk prior to October 1 for the next year’s tax bill, and a disabled veteran to file the VA disability rating, Form 20-5455, with the assessor regardless of wartime service. It prints no amounts for either exemption. For the additional exemption the page says a veteran eligible for the standard one whose income meets “certain state guidelines” may apply, and prints the limits: “For the October 2025 Grand List, the income limit for a single veteran is $46,300 and $56,500 for a married veteran.” Those are the amounts OPM’s memo set for applications filed in 2026; the memo of December 12, 2024 set $45,200 and $55,100 for the 2025 grand list the page names. Ask the assessor which limit applies to the current filing. The active-duty exemption covers one passenger motor vehicle owned or leased, on an annual letter from the member’s commanding officer filed by December 31. OLR’s 2023 survey recorded Beacon Falls as offering the specially equipped vehicle option of 12-81h, which 33 of the 35 towns reporting it exempt at 100 percent of value. The town’s code is on eCode360 (BE3824), which stayed behind its Cloudflare challenge (dubiousenvelope/vettoc issue 168).

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
