Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Pennsylvania's veterans treatment courts are problem-solving courts of the county's judicial district; the Pennsylvania entry explains them. The county's page: "The Armstrong County Veterans Treatment Court is a specialized treatment court designed to provide an alternative program for Armstrong County's veterans facing criminal charges, many of whom are dealing with mental health and addiction issues... Veterans who participate will come before judges on a regular basis, receive support and guidance from veteran mentors, be supervised by a specialized probation officer and receive treatment and support from the Veterans Administration." The programme. It is "an alternative to incarceration for veterans who meet clinical criteria (PTSD, traumatic brain injury, drug/alcohol addiction and mental health disorders.) Post plea/pre-sentencing veterans participate in an intensive two-year process that includes drug testing, medical and mental health care, attendance in 12-step or faith-based programs... and regularly scheduled treatment court meetings." The District Attorney, the Public Defender and Probation identify qualified veterans. How to apply. The referral and application (revised August 2025) is "Only for people who served in the US Military/Veterans". Send it with the criminal complaint and affidavit if available and the DD-214 to Armstrong County Probation Office, 500 East Market Street, Room 303, Courthouse, Kittanning, PA 16201; fax 724-548-3460. It asks the discharge type, listing every type from honourable to dishonourable, so a discharge other than honourable does not stop the application. Questions: Probation Department, 724-548-3491.
