Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Recording Division's fee schedule lists "Military Discharge: DD214 and 2 Certified Copies, No Charge". The Division records military discharges along with real estate records, at 5334 S. Prince Street, Littleton (303-795-4520; [email protected]). In-person service is by appointment only, Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; documents can also be mailed or left in the 24-hour drop boxes outside each branch, marked "Recording". C.R.S. 30-1-103, which sets clerk and recorder fees, names no discharge exemption, so the free recording is the Clerk's own practice, as it is in El Paso County. Ask the Division how later copies of a recorded DD-214 are released; its pages do not say.
