Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission sets its own licences and fees, so the terms come from the Commission's licence schedule rather than the Code. At 100 percent permanent and total. The Commission lists a Resident Disabled Military Veteran Lifetime Fishing License (VLF) for $1.50, a Lifetime Hunting License (VLH) for $1.50 with the privileges of the Resident Sportsman's License, and a Lifetime Combination License (VLC2) for $3. Each requires that the veteran "be 100 percent totally and permanently disabled with certification from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs" and prove one year of Arkansas residence. Lifetime waterfowl ($7) and trout ($10) permits can be added to the combination licence. A trout permit is still needed to keep trout on the fishing-only licence. At 70 percent, or 50 percent with a Purple Heart. The Resident Disabled Military Veteran Lifetime Combination License and Permit (VLL2) costs $52.50 and "entitles any resident disabled veteran who has a service connected disability rating of 70% or higher or has a service connected disability rating of 50% or higher with a Purple Heart to hunting, fishing, trout, and state duck stamp privileges". It came from Senate Bill 397 of 2019, which the Commission said lowered the threshold "from 100 percent disable to 70 percent disabled". The general disability licences. A resident who is 100 percent permanent and total by VA, Social Security or Railroad Retirement certification can instead buy a three-year disability licence, $10.50 fishing, $25 hunting or $35.50 combination, on 60 days' residence. For a veteran they are strictly worse than the lifetime licences. Unemployability. The Commission's wording is a 100 percent total and permanent certification. A VA letter showing individual unemployability found permanent and total, paid at the 100 percent rate, is that certification in substance; the rating filter on this page shows the entry to a veteran paid through unemployability for that reason. How to apply. All veteran lifetime licences are issued only by the Little Rock office, by mail or in person, with the VA letter and proof of residence. Call 833-345-0325. Federal duck stamps and HIP registration are still required to hunt waterfowl.
